Tel Aviv University
Dear all,
This Monday we will have a special Horowitz seminar at the usual time
and place. These will be held irregularly during the summer to
accommodate visitors and other special talks. Our first special
seminar features Oren Louidor from UCLA.
Speaker: Oren Louidor, University of California, Los Angeles
Title: Complete Survival for the Biased Voter Model on Regular Trees
Date: Monday, July 2
Time: 14:30
Place: Schreiber 309
We consider the Biased Voter Model (also known as the Williams
Bjerknes model) on the d-regular tree and prove that local survival
implies asymptotic consensus (or complete survival). Complete
survival and fixation are also considered in the case of general
vertex transitive graphs, where the initial configuration is chosen
according to a distribution which is automorphism invariant and/or
ergodic. Joint work with Ran Tessler and Alexander Vandenberg-Rodes.
Have a good summer,
