Logarithmic Sobolev inequalities
 
Logarithmic Sobolev inequalities, first introduced in information theory
and mathematical physics, are kinds of dimension free Sobolev type
inequalities of central importance in the analysis of systems with an
infinite number of coordinates. They appear today as a reference model
at the interface of analysis, probability and geometry, and played in
particular an important role in the recent developments in optimal
transportation and the geometry of metric measure spaces.

Analysis and geometry of Markov diffusion operators part 1
 
In the framework of the first talk, at the interface between analysis,
probability theory and geometry, these lectures will emphasize some old
and new results in the analysis of diffusion Markov operators and
semigroups via the so-called $\Gamma $-calculus. Functional and heat
kernel inequalities, their geometric features and links with measure
concentration will be parts of the developed topics.
