Numerous methods have been proposed for finding the MTD, most of them can be seen as myopic strategies with respect to a certain loss function. Such myopic designs are computationally feasible, but are not globally optimal. In this talk, I present a dynamic programming (DP) algorithm that computes optimal designs with respect to different loss functions. DP algorithms require heavy computations, and I will discuss several aspects of the design that makes the calculation feasible.
