Hello everyone,

It seems that the entire university is on strike tomorrow.
We therefore cancel the colloquium talk that was scheduled for tomorrow.

Tel Aviv University Colloquium
Hello everyone,
The next colloquium talk will be held on Monday, 7/11/2011, 12:15, Schreiber
006, Tel Aviv University. The speaker is
    Semyon Alesker (Tel Aviv University)
and the title of his talk is
Theory of valuations and integral geometry
The abstract is given below. Tea and coffee at 12:00, same room.
Hope to see you there. For information about future colloquia, see
You are all welcome to suggest colloquium speakers, especially for January
and for the second semester.
Abstract: Valuations are finitely additive measures on convex compact sets.
Relatively recently it was realized that a class of smooth valuations have a
product structure. We will discuss it in the cases of isometry invariant and
unitarily invariant valuations. Then we explain how the theory of valuations
can be applied to integral geometry.
