TECHMATH AND TECHMATH2 ARE ABOUT TO CHANGE THEIR MODES OF OPERATION
Dear Techmath users and Techmath/Techmath2 subscribers.
In the very near future there will be some significant changes in the
way the Techmath website and the Techmath and Techmath2 mailing lists
The format of the announcements sent to the mailing lists will change.
In the proposed new configuration it may happen that several events will
appear in the same emailed announcement. Hopefully most subscribers to
the mailing list will find the new format more convenient, but, if not,
we will attempt to improve it.
Those of you who request us to send us details of activities which you
wish us to announce on our website and mailing lists, will be asked
to do so by filling in a form which you can already access at the
following web address:
by clicking on the "button" after "Add new events".
Using this new form may seem a little onerous at first, but you should
soon find that with a bit of cutting and pasting you will be able to use
it quite easily. It will include the option of attaching pdf files.
Other options may be added later.
AT THIS STAGE THIS FORM IS NOT YET FULLY OPERATIONAL.
UNTIL FUTURE NOTICE YOU MAY CONTINUE SUBMITTING ANNOUNCEMENTS TO
TECHMAT AND TECHMATH2 IN THE SAME WAY AS BEFORE AND WE HOPE TO
BE ABLE TO PROCESS THEM.
The form will replace the current system where the Techmath editor sometimes
has to invest considerable time and effort to put incoming announcements
into a suitable form where the relevant information can be quickly and
conveniently accessed by Techmath users.
We thank several people who have worked very hard to set up this new
system. No doubt there will be teething problems and perhaps even quite
a lot of adjustments to be made until it starts working smoothly.
We ask you to please be patient with us.
The material currently accessible at
will remain accessible there. But in the near future you may
have to start referring instead to
for the latest events(*).
(But I suppose that we will be able to have links between
these two sites.)
(*) Please note: For the moment announcements appearing on the new website
are fictitious and only being placed there to test the working of
the new system.
