Title: Algebraic functions over finite fields.
The Hadamard product of two functions $\sum a_n z^n, \sum b_n z^n$ is
defined classically  as $\sum a_n b_n z^n$.  It is easy to give
examples of two algebraic functions whose Hadamard product is not
algebraic (e.g. $a_n = b_n = {an\choose n})$.  However in the context
of formal power series over a finite field, the Hadamard product of
algebraic functions remains algebraic.  We will explain this  and ---
if time allows --- give the motivation for the question.
