Regularity Properties in Free Boundary Problems
I am going to describe various ways to investigate the regularity properties in
free boundary problems, elaborated over the last decade. Since the existence of
singular free boundary points is a typical phenomenon for such problems, it
is important to find conditions providing the smoothness of the free boundary
in a neighborhood of a given point. The main steps here are a scaling procedure
and study of global solutions. Estimates of solutions and monotonicity formulas
also play the crucial role in this analysis.
