Hard copies of the syllabus are available from me. I will put the post script file of the syllabus here later. There will be three mid term tests which together will determine most of your mark (or ``grade'' if you prefer American English). They are scheduled for April 11, May 16 and June 24, 1997. I wish you all success in this course. As you probably realize by now it is not at all easy, but it is very important for your future study of many different topics in mathematics.
